Commercial sites created by professional webdesigners will be judged a bit harder.

01. All websites are welcome to apply, the submitter must be the webmaster/owner of the site and the most important thing is that your site does not contain pornography, nudity, rascism, foul language or hatred of any kind or prejudice towards other religious beliefs. Also, all websites that promote alcohol, tobacco and drugs will also be rejected. Business sites may apply, but please have something creative to share or say.

02. There are a lot of award givers that will not accept applications from web sites hosted on free servers such as Euromania. On the contrary, I accept and evaluate such sites, especially of those people who think that their hard work deserves a special award. There are students like myself that cannot afford a top level domain for obvious reasons, and still we can express ourselves thanks to these free hosting services.

03. I think that a fundamental instrument in the world's design is color. Just imagine a world without colors! ‘Mammamia’ I don't even want to think about it... For this, I am searching for web sites that with theirs colors and shadings make me feel and imagine other horizons.

04. The content must be free of slang and abbreviations. About that I think that it is absolutely useless to repeat always the same thing, the content must be coherent, and every page of your site should have a scope. I don't give a lot of importance to the quantity of pages, but above all, I am looking for the quality and content of the pages.

05. Text must be easy to read over the background. Font size and face must be standardized. Have coordinating colors and/or backgrounds that do not clash with each other, thus straining the eyes.

06. Your site must be safe for children and contain family-friendly content with no obscene language or graphics, illegal activity or links to the same. We must give a chance to our children, to safely and freely navigate our web sites in order to explore new horizons.

07. You have to be at least 16 years[*] old and if you have the American nationality, have a Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (C.O.P.P.A.).

08. The site must be in either Italian, English, German, French or Spanish or have a translated version into these languages. Online translators will not be counted as a valid version, I can to translate some word, not all the contents.

09. Sites need to be complete and functional with at least seven (7) pages of original content created only for your site, not just links to other sites and links are not consider content. The following pages will not be considered as original content : webrings, about me, contact me, awards, forum, copyright, privacy, code of ethics, guestbooks and guestmap.

10. I'm Italian, and I admit that I make some spelling or grammatical mistakes in foreign languages that I know, i.e. English, French, Spanish and German. Therefore, if your site is written in any of the mentioned languages, which is not your native language, as it is in my case, I will accept a maximum of three spelling or grammar mistakes per page.

12. If you use content like quotations or images from other books, websites or any other source, you must give credits/references to these sources with the owner's appropriate declaration. Unauthorized fan-art sites will not be accepted. Artistic nude; remember that the nudity's theme is accepted only if is really an artistic nude in the more simple manner and clean. I study at the Academy of Fine Arts and I know well the difference between art and pornography. I am sure that all people know the difference! I respect all religions, and it is respect that is the most important in life!

13. The site may contain not more than three banners or one automatic pop-up[**] advertisements. I can accept that people have their personal websites on a free server with popups, but not commercial sites. If your site contain many advertisements (The automatic banners advertisements or pop-ups caused by free servers will not be counted), it will have to be disqualified.

14. The loading time of the pages may not surpass 90 seconds on a 56k modem. I don't like waiting and I'm sure the visitors won't wait.

15. All images and HTML need to work properly. I think that dead links and crashed images give a very bad impression. I will allow for a few broken links due to server error, but no more than three for the entire site. Also, original graphics are a must! If you use other people's graphics as well, be sure to give credit where credit is due.

16. Your web site must be easy to navigate without using the back button of my browser, then, every page must have a link to next and previous pages, with access to all (most) of the pages without having to return to the home page. For a good navigation, each page must have a title and not just "New_Page_1, New_Page_2, etc.". Email link should be found easily to contact you.

17. A site with an award program should have a clearly visible link towards a privacy statement. Therefore, if you collect personal information through submission forms, e-mail or even your guestbook, you should display a privacy statement.

18. Please read my Privacy Policy carefully before you apply.

19. A copyright statement must reside on the web site.Your content must be original and copyright respected. If the material is yours, please credit it too. Please read more information by clicking here.

20. Your site will be examined with Internet Explorer only, and should work with the latest version of this browser. If your site is best viewed a certain way, please state this somewhere on your site (preferably at the intro or first page). Under no condition may your site crash my browser.

22. If a site contains Flash or Music, there must be a Skip Intro or a Stop button or something similar.

23. I love music but remember the option to turn it off. I love dogs, music and photography but I will not review sites content "only" dogs, music and photograpy without explanations. Example; site with just links to other sites or "this is me, and these are my pets" will not win.

24. If you don't fulfill all the criteria but excel in others, you still may win an award, provided that I really like it! However, I'm looking for sites that are not stand-alone awards program.

25. When you apply, you must write Euromania in the comment box of the application form. Don't forget to include it in your application because I don't accept applications which are incomplete.

26. Guest Book: It never has been or ever will be part of the criteria to sign my guestbook to earn an award. Entries in my guestbook have no bearing on whether your site earns an award.

27. If your site contain many advertisements (The automatic banners advertisements or pop-ups caused by free servers will not be counted), it will have to be disqualified.

28. I would appreciate a notification of all moves, so no broken links will be found within Euromania. If the site moves, the award winner must notify me of the Url change to continue to be linked on the winners page. If a URL is not working after 3 tries, the link to your site will be removed.

29. Only winners will be notified by e-mail about the result of my evaluation.

30. Re-submissions are welcome as long as at least 60 days have passed since the last evaluation and you may resubmit your site for an upgrade in 90 days, if and when you have made significant upgrades to your web site. Please, review the criteria carefully and take the self test before you resubmitting your site!

Your web site must have an awards won page even if you haven't won any awards yet. Also, the awards won section must be easily accessible on your site.

Your site must proudly display all awards received. You should have like a "Hall of Awards" section to display all your "Awards Won". This section should be clearly visible in your site and linked to your home page. If your web site achieves my award, the award graphic should be displayed in the "Awards Won" page within 14 days of receipt, otherwise the award will be revoked and your site will be removed from the DAGA's winners list. If an award is refused, the site will not qualify for another award from this program in the future.

Please do not force me to download any plug-in to view your site properly.
